LOOKS

The following story, by an unknown author, was sent to me by a friend.  I enjoyed it so much that I thought I would share it with all of you, the readers of this blog.

One Sunday morning the pastor of a fairly large church was about to begin his message when a man dressed in grease riddled jeans and leather jacket walked in and sat down in one of the pews.  The pastor felt rather embarrassed by the burly man’s appearance.  So, after the service was over he asked the man if he would pray and ask God if it was right to dress in such a way when attending his church.  The man said he would.

The following week the pastor was just beginning his message when the man walked in wearing the same greasy jeans and leather jacket and takes a seat in the back of the church.

After the service the pastor was furious and went to the man once again and said,  “I thought I asked you to pray to God and ask Him if He thought it was right to dress in such a way while attending my church.”  The man replied,  “I did.”  The pastor said,  “Well, what did God tell you?”  The man said,  “He told me that He didn’t have a clue as to what to wear in this church because He’s never been there before.”

New Grocery Store Concept

  The scent of freshness.
It is reported that a new supermarket opened recently in Albuquerque. It has an automatic water mister to keep the produce fresh.  Just before it goes on, you hear the distant sound of thunder and the smell of fresh rain.

When you pass the milk cases, you hear cows mooing and you experience  the scent of fresh cut Hay.

In the meat department there is the aroma of charcoal grilled steaks and brats.. In the liquor department, the fresh, clean, crisp smell of tapped Miller Lite.

When you  approach the egg case, you hear hens cluck and cackle and the air is filled with the pleasing aroma of bacon and eggs frying.

The bread department features the tantalizing smell of fresh baked bread & cookies.

It seems that the sales of toilet paper have dropped way off!

A Little Kentucky Humor

>> Friday, January 29, 2010

Recently one of the blogs I read had a post entitled “Texas Humor.”

I thought you might enjoy a bit of Kentucky humor (with a bit of Texas humor as well.)

It seems that a fellow from Kentucky struck up a conversation with a guy from Texas. After a bit of the usual weather and sports items the Texan asked the Kentucky fellow if he had any land. “Oh, yeah! I’ve got 50 acres, with 25 in terbaccy and some good oak timber,” replied the Kentuckian. The Texan asked, “You call that land?” He continued, “Where I live I can get in my old pick-up of a morning and drive all day and still not reach the other side of my land!” The Kentuckian nodded his head knowingly and replied, “Yes sir, yes sir, I know what you mean. I used to have a pick-up just like that.”
